Now that I am Actually Reading and aim to Keep Reading, I can attempt this meme on a regular basis.

What are you currently reading?

Libby says I am 28% through I'll Be Gone In the Dark. I've been distracted by watching things for exchanges and fulfilling obligations for chorus, but hope to power through a bunch this weekend. We're sleep training the boys, so I may just bring some true crime with me as I try to comfort a sobbing twin.

What do you think you'll read next?

As is the nature of library holds, I had four come available just after starting I'll Be Gone. Assuming I can make good progress, I'll be choosing between:

- The Sundial, Shirley Jackson
- Gideon the Ninth, Tamsin Muir
- Annihilation, Jeff VanDerMeer
(- The Haunting of Hill House, Shirley Jackson already bypassed my hold)

I'm very curious to see your reactions to both Gideon the Ninth and Annihilation. :) (Also, thank you for reminding me about I'll Be Gone In The Dark. I kept putting it off, but I think it would be exactly what I want right about now.)

I love all four of those! They are all four equally amazing. Can't wait to see what you think of them.

Extremely excited for you to read Gideon so I can continue experiencing the book entirely through the reactions of people whose opinions I enjoy! Also v v excited for you to read my forever fave Annihilation *points to icon*

It's my chosen compromise between 'I am super into necromancers, codependency, and shoving gods in lockers and calling them nerds' and 'I find Gideon unreadably annoying' and I gotta say it has worked out AMAZINGLY so far!

One day I will actually read Harrow and be Slightly more enlightened but right now it's my. What did that one post call it, my fandom-in-law? The one that all my friends are into but that I only see at parties (when someone points me at a fic)?

Oh that's a hard choice! Haunting is one of my favourite books ever, Sundial is fantastic, I loved Gideon and haven't read Annihilation but a lot of my friends loved it.
