Which TV show did you start watching in 2013?
Hannibal, The Fall, Orange is the New Black, Sleepy Hollow, Top of the Lake, Happy Endings, Teen Wolf, Orphan Black, Masters of Sex, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, @midnight, Dracula, The Bridge.
Which TV show did you let go of in 2013?
Bob's Burgers pretty early on. I kept forgetting it was on and for me that is pretty sure sign of losing interest. Parks and Recreation, for the most part -- at least, emotionally let go. I also would have dropped Sleepy Hollow, but lady is super fond of it. Degrassi.
Which TV show did you mean to get into but didn't in 2013? Why?
Bates Motel had some appeal, but was so rapey that I just... couldn't. The Wentworth pilot is engrossing and very Australian and full of women, but it just kept getting pushed to the backburner. I also tried the Danish version of The Bridge and just... was not interested. At all. The Whose Line reboot. Everything was off about it. The Fosters.
Which TV show do you intend to check out in 2014?
Black Sails, and Getting On, at least for a trial run. I'll finally get past the first episode of Hit & Miss. Possibly Penny Dreadful.
Which TV show impressed you least in 2013?
I was pretty cranky about the "changes" in Project Runway that ended up being totally useless. And New Girl. When your favorite character is a cat, something's probably wrong. American Horror Story: Coven. I figured it would be racist, but I had no idea.
Which TV show did you enjoy the most in 2013?
Orphan Black and Top of the Lake are a pretty serious tie. Honorable mentions are Hannibal, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Masters of Sex.

It's a remake of Prisoner, a show that I was very hooked on in my teens. It was mindblowingly queer for the eighties - like, lesbian characters without it being a plot point.

Ugh, me too. What a waste of time.

It's really bad? I haven't watched it yet, but I got more and more wary. It could have been so good! Bleh.

One thing I did like about PR was the Tim Gunn Save, which is interesting because he usually has such different ideas on the designs than the judges do. It could have gone really bad, but his pick was really delightful.
AHS... oh man. This season... there are things I like about it. I mean, the cast is 90% women. There are GONNA be things I like. But so much of the conflict is woman vs. woman, and not only that but white women vs. black women. The visuals are disgustingly racist, and that racism gets put into text several times. Even the attempts to be not-racist end up being racist. Partially to 'blame' is Kathy Bates STUNNING performance as like the worst, most cruel, racist in history. She plays a nuanced character, and the text wants you to sympathize with her. *smh* I think it could get better in the 2nd half, but jeez, I'm so underwhelmed. It isn't even scary.

I recently saw season 1 of American Horror Story and I'm all sorts of conflicted. It started out super scary and then ended up as basically Betelgeuse. Which was fine, I guess, but I dunno. It all got very silly, and obviously the sexual violence aspect was fairly extreme :/
I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.
I'll check out season 2, mostly cos I find asylums creepy in a way little else is. We'll see how it goes.
