that was interesting
So, I had a little bit of an adventure yesterday.
Driving back home from St Louis (saw Jane Eyre, thoughts posted sometime soon) and got caught in a freak snow storm (late March, HELLO). The car in front of me slowed down dramatically, and I didn't think hitting the breaks on the road conditions would prevent a colision so I turned a little, causing a massive spin out, and flipped my car. I didn't see this, but my dad saw the car today and said it is badly totaled. Apparently, I either opened the passenger door to get out or crawled out the window. The drivers side is totally smashed, all the wheels are flat, the side mirrors are hanging on by threads, and the trunk is bashed in. The place where I flipped is between two bluffs. I could very easily be not only badly injured but dead right now.
Instead? i only have a mild contusion. My body doesn't even hurt. I just have a headache.
I'm a little bit overwhelmed, to say the least.

I forgot to mention the overwhelming kindness of strangers. No fewer than five cars pulled over to help me, and a couple walked me to their car while I was sobbing, let me use their phone to call my parents, called 911 for me, and went to get my purse for me from the wreck.
The whole experience could have been so much worse.

I'd also echo what your friend above said - take time to heal. It may be rough for a little while.
