Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? More! I'm really pleased that I was able to pass my goal.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? The only really unpredictable things were canons I hadn't watched yet.
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? Makes me happiest? Oh god, next year I need to purge this meme for wording that doesn't jive with me. Um. I was quite thrilled with What birds have vanished one by one. And popularity doesn't… really ever factor in.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? Writing as much as I did was a risk, and pinch hits are always questionable as far as time constraints go.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? I do indeed. See above.

It is a lovely feeling, when I've got a bunch of notification emails building up in my inbox, knowing the next time I plop down for some fanfic, that I'll have some of gloss's treats awaiting.

What kinds of crafting do you do? I see cosplay in your tags, which covers a lot of territory. Is there any of it that you want to talk about?
Re: here from Snowflake
I've been ruminating on my list for approx. two months now, and see it as a means of obsessively tracking things I expect to do, rather than the probably-true intention of a goal or resolution. It makes my OCD wonderfully happy to collect all of the things as the year passes.
I haven't done cosplay in quite a few years, aside from helping craft some costumes for my kids. These days, if I'm crafting for myself it is something like diamond painting, or paint by number - I like the order of it - but mostly I'm crafting with my 4-year-old. Last year (WOW, WEIRD) we sewed some small stuffies, and did a few craft kits.

For some reason, my brain separates Halloween costumes from cosplay, though I know rationally they really are the same.

I've also got writing, reading, TV show and other craft project goals. I'm going to friend you if that's okay. I'm new to DW but not to blogging and writing. :)

I've subscribed to you! Welcome :)

Now, thoughts. Since you have your own office (go you) maybe you could set up your own little table? In the corner? Tucked unobtrusively away behind the coat rack?
For at home, there is a puzzle mat that you can buy that you can roll up half-completed puzzles and loose pieces and it apparently keeps them safe. You could work on the puzzle when babies are asleep, and roll it up when they're awake and doing baby things. Of course, that doesn't help with the cats. I got one for Christmas (a puzzle mat, not a cat) but I haven't used it because I have neither babies nor cats. If anyone is going to chew one of my puzzle pieces, it would have to be me.

I love your solutions. Basically the office is TBD since it is still in the "ordering furniture" phase - I think I'll be moved in by February? - and I'm not sure what will fit. We have a flat mat at home that slides under the couch, but it is home to my wife's current puzzle, which she, in theory, can work on at naptime, but that is the time when our 4-year old demands ACTIVITIES and not puzzles.
The roll-up mat has a trick to it that I never really figured out - I like the flat storage much better, though none is perfect, and we've still managed to leak pieces from this one. We have aggressive puzzle piece and sock elves.

Smart thinking to hide things under the sofa. I'm going to hold out hope, then, that you can find a reason why you reallllllly need another table. Over by the coat rack.
