Top five movies you're looking forward to in 2012.
Since it looks like Bachelorette, Celeste & Jesse, and Save the Date are all not slated for 2012 (BOO) that clears up some spots for my top five. And because I can, have a top 10!

- Butter (October) : Jennifer Garner in competition with a young girl (trope!), unlikable main characters (trope!) and a weird niche of society = win.
- Snow White and the Huntsman (May) : I'm sort of obligated to include this, aren't I?
- Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (June) : From the writer of Nick & Norah (so witty!) and starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley, this genre-mash looks delightful.
- People Like Us (June, Limited) : I'm including this based on a tasty little incest rumor. COME ON.
- Anna Karenina (Nov) : Another Keira-fronted historical flick directed by Joe Wright (who I have mixed feelings about but damn does he make beautiful movies)
- For a Good Time, Call... (Sept, Limited) : There are few things I love more than a female-fronted comedy about sex work. And Ari Grainor.
- This is 40 (Dec) : Speaking of female-fronted comedies, this is a sort-of sequel to Knocked Up that focuses on the secondary characters including the always-amazing Leslie Mann.
- Sound of My Voice (April) : The first ten minutes of the film are already online as part of the marketing for the film, but damn if this doesn't look incredible. Cults, mysteries... tons of buzz from Sundance. Nice!
- Hysteria (May) : If you haven't seen the trailer for this, you might not understand my excitement but Maggie Gyllenhaal. Historical drama. Vibrators.
- Prometheus (June) : I don't know much about this other than the pre-trailer that I saw awhile back, but NOOMI RAPACE. And Ridley Scott directing... drool!

I have to admit, the main thing I'm excited for this year is The Hobbit, mainly because I've been waiting for it to hit the big screen since I was 9 years old :D
