I am back on a comics kick thanks to starting Birds of Prey, following GailSimone on twitter, and reading Alias. Perfect timing since Comic Con (local) is coming up in like two weeks.

Before I start compiling a list of what I'm looking for and budget myself to afford the splurge that I know is going to happen... Flist, please help me decide what is worthwhile.

- I really want some kind of BoP tpb, but according to prozacpark, they aren't well collected
- Books other than Alias that feature Jessica Jones (and are good)
- X-23, but what are some quality writers of her?
- Kathryn Immonen; I liked her run on NYX. Is her run of Runaways good? Has she done anything else I should check out?

Basically, I am in for anything Quality, Written by Women, About Women... and such.

HIT ME.

BoP is not very well collected, but there are some collections that are okay and make sense: Birds of Prey: Of Like Minds, Birds of Prey: Sensei and Student, Birds of Prey: Between Dark and Dawn, Birds of Prey: The Battle Within and Birds of Prey: Perfect Pitch are pretty much complete and in order, but after that it jumps around a lot.

Jessica Jones shows up in Daredevil a few times, but some really good Jessica scenes are in Young Avengers, which is collected into twos handy trade paperbacks: ISBN 0-7851-2018-1 and ISBN 0-7851-1754-7, or all in one: ISBN 0-7851-3033-0. Jessica's Daredevil appearances are collected in Daredevil: Out, Daredevil: Lowlife and Daredevil: Hardcore (mostly in the latter two, but all three make a good storyline).

X-23 is currently being written in her own series by Marjorie M Liu, and I highly recommend it! She's also in Pixie Strikes Back by Kathryn Immonen, a very cute and mostly self-contained miniseries.

It's so handy living with a canonista, I tell you what.

Have you read Batwoman? She is awesome, and canonically gay. Greg Rucka's run was good, with gorgeous art. We got it in single issues, so I don't know how the collection is, but if they have the ministories with The Question in the back? Even better. Renee Montoya is the current incarnation of The Question - she's also gay in canon.

Do you know if this gay Batwoman or gay Question stuff is TPB'd? I have trouble approving myself to spend money on individual issues.

I just hunted around - the TPB for Batwoman is Batwoman: Elegy. (With an introduction by Rachel Maddow, too, according to Wiki!)

It doesn't have the Question storyline, though. Can I upload it for you? (It's very wee.)
