Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I'm always a bit disappointed when I don't beat the massive year for fic (2007) which I think hit somewhere in the 80s or 90s, though most of that was drabbles, and this year I did a LOT of longer fic, even when just writing personal requests.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Twin Peaks. I'd always heard about it as a kind of mythical force, and figured that when I saw it I wouldn't dare touch it. And the stuff I've written for it has been in different styles for me, so that was unexpected as well.

What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
The Runaways RPF, because yes, I like being first, damnit.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
[livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon was a pretty huge risk, as I wasn't overly familiar with most of the qualifying fandoms and had only written one apocalypse story before and that was mostly just to have gay gay sex. So, not only did I have to write in a (mostly) new fandom, but I wrote new characters, did LOADS of research and came out with one of my best stories this year.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Not necessarily fanfic, but I want to write every day. And I want to do all the ficathons that I did in 2009, if possible. Plus NANO!

From my past year of writing, what was ...

My best story
I'm going to go ahead and say The Old Forever New Thing which was a freaking pinch hit! (The Office, Karen/Katy, Karen/Pam, PG-13)

My most popular
one thing I recall is my birth, a Juno gen fic, which got a lot of feedback just by virtue of being a popular movie fic in a community where most people write about obscure female characters in already obscure book series.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion
Until We Bleed, which is a fanfic of a fanfic [Transatlanticism 1 & 2 by Sivi], so I understand why not a lot of people have read it, and the ones I wrote it FOR have so that's what matters, but still, I think it's one of the most intense stories I've written.

Most fun story to write
Probably one of the crossovers. I did a lot with House and Leverage, which I have trouble writing on their own, but work well as the set up for something else.

Sexiest story
*shrugs* That's not really my brand of awesome, now is it.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story
I've never de-gayed a canonically gay character, and I don't feel like I do that here (High F - Glee, Kurt/Rachel) despite the technically heterosexual sex. Still, the fact that I wanted to write this felt wrong. And I've been rewarded with a few other fans who were glad to find a friendly face waiting with fic for their sick desire :)

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters
I wrote two (and a half) The Inside stories this year (one was a crossover, and therefore doesn't count). The first was a NYR story, written after a massive immersion in the series. During the year, there were several meta-type discussions about Rebecca Locke, and I didn't think about how they might have effected my first story until after I wrote the last story, on the last day of the year. There are subtle differences in Rebecca, but after re-reading both stories, I feel like in essence nothing needs to be changed. It was an interesting journey--for writing so little in this fandom, Rebecca Locke has really been at the center of this year's fandom journey.

Hardest story to write
Jennifer Garner goes gay aka come on come out definitely took me the longest. Like, AGES AND AGES.

Biggest disappointment
Repo. Sorry, but my Repo fics suck.

Most unintentionally telling story
Don't know about unintentionally, seeing as I knew I was doing it, but Until We Bleed. :(
