I've been reading the comments and I still fail to see how Emily is a Mary Sue. If anything, EFFY is the Mary Sue, because she's so ~flawed but everyone loves her and wants to be her friend. And she's too cool for school.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Effy, but Jesus Christ.

Okay, season 3 Effy is, yeah.

But that happens a lot in real life.

Lol. Basically though, you're right: there are girls like Effy in real like, just like there are girls like Emily in real life. (I admit to over-emphasizing with Ems at some points, because she reminds me a lot of myself when I was in high school.)

I don't really care about the fact that you don't like Emily, really, I just don't think she qualifies as being a Mary Sue. *shrugs*
