and recs = positive thinking.
Fandoms: House (Cameron/Thirteen, Cameron/Cuddy, Thirteen/Riley-CSI crossover)
The Office (Karen/Pam, Karen/Pam/Jim, Karen/Katy, Karen/Jan, Pam/Katy, Pam/Jan, Pam/Angela)
- Probably my favorite couple in the House universe would be Cameron/Thirteen. A lot of the fics for this pairing tend to be overly fluffy, when really, neither character tends towards that sort of thing.
shara_i has a great one called Circular Motion that is probably the most realistic story I've ever read. It totally ignores every fangirl's notion of fairy tale happy endings and brutally stabs the reader with Hey, You know Reality? This is It. And on the other end of realism (though still startilingly realistic),
recrudescence has Affabluation, where zombies have taken over the world and Cameron and Thirteen are brought together by circumstance, brutal as they are. Then
sinandmisery and
ijemanja have fics that are in turns refreshingly light, but also wonderfully in character and deal with some interesting concepts. Check out Take These Chances to Turn it Around and When Everything Will be Just Fine, respectfully.
- To avoid too much repetition of authors, I don't have many recs for Cameron/Cuddy. I tend to find a flavor I like and keep eating it. That said, I was wild over
quasiradiant 's this body of wonder and uncertainty, which takes a new look at the two women from the beginning. Then
fated_addiction has your photographer boyfriend uses shakespeare for whisky, with a pregnant Cameron and the end of the world.
ijemanja 's Spiral Patterns is a series of smaller pieces brought together in a whirl of emotion and attraction.
- And because these are my recs, I can totally do whatever I want with them. I'm an RPer at heart. For those uninitiated, that means Role Play. I don't even watch the current season of CSI, but I love Lauren Lee Smith, so when I found out that she was playing a character, I was interested. I was gay-interested. I have absolutely no idea how I stumbled upon the RP journals of
13x_forever and
rileyadams , or how they stumbled upon each other. But the result, my friends, is stunning. The fictional chemistry these two players have is truly beautiful. I've spent hours refreshing pages, just watching Thirteen and Riley have conversations in real time, and weekends checking back to see if Thirteen's trip to Vegas amounted to sexy time. The content ranges from hilarious to poignant to downright HOT. Though I don't recommend them without a grain of salt: this is my little treasure. Don't go commenting in their playground. That's breaking the rules. Respect them.
THE OFFICE
- The Pam/Karen 'ship offers a plethora of wonderful reading. Really, I can only scratch the surface with these recs. Simply in the order that I had them saved:
pirateygoodness writes Christmas (if all of Santa's elves were lipstick lesbians), in which we have Benihana Christmas, the director's cut,
michellek writes Twelve Talking Heads on the Day It is Discovered that Karen and Pam are a Couple, in which we have just that,
bebitched writes seeds that make the higher ground grow and multiply, in which Karen and Pam have beginnings and middles and ends, just not in that order,
fated_addiction writes we are doomed to become a mixed tape of leaving songs, in which they don't tell Jim,
thrace_ writes Take a Second, Take a Year, in which Pam finds her Karen,
leiascully writes Girls Always Go to the Bathroom Together, in which well, they do, and
meltyoudown writes The Difference Between Wanting and Knowing, in which we want to get hurt, because we are the reader.
- For those who like their KaPam with a side of Jim, there are a few fics you shouldn't miss.
honey_wheeler 's auld lang syne and the sequel, we'll take a cup of kindness yet are nothing less than exquisite (and filthy, might I add).
threeguesses also has a great story, twenty facts about karen fillipelli, that doesn't have the appreciation it deserves.
- Not to be forgotten, there are other femslash pairings in The Office! Some that I've enjoyed are Karen/Katy (And One Day, We'll Really Laugh by
michellek ), Pam/Angela (i'm miles from where you are by
fated_addiction and Lesbians are what Sluts Turn Into when they Run Out of Men to Sleep With by
pirateygoodness ), Jan/Karen (Suit by nomadshan), Pam/Katy (maybe tomorrow by
honey_wheeler ) and Jan/Pam (like being hollow inside by
allthingsholy ).

and the 13/Riley roleplay made my day. seriously entertaining and quite in character. that being said, they would actually trump 13/C should the occasion arise. And I will keep on watching from afar ...

I didnt wanna come off whiny, but I'm in the middle of an epic tina/amy fic, it's 25 pages right now and just starting up, so I'm in desperate need of the knowledge that if i post this one, even just the bit I've done now I might get some encouragement. :) So thank you for that, so much.
