Stats
28 stories, one co-written. Word count from 100 to
Total fandoms (including unrevealed yuletide fic): 24
Total previously unwritten fandoms (including yuletide): 13
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
A lot less "publishable" fic, however I was working pretty constantly at RP and recently started using 750words.com, which creates a high word total, if not anything actually usable.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Damages, and most of the Jenna/Rashida multi-crossover
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Horn of Plenty, my main yuletide fic, or the massive Jenna/Rashida crossover that a few people read but no one understood, Location Temporary
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Wrote a yuletide pinch hit for a fandom I hadn't seen until later that night [Spider Lilies, a Chinese lesbian film]. Lesson: Interesting exercise, but don't do it again. love is hell (hell is love)
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I want to 'win' 750words.com at least one month. I want to finish (or at least put a dent in) my thesis. In short? Write more, dammit.
From my past year of writing, what was ...
My best story
Probably first breath after coma, my femgenficathon ode to Whip It and all things derby.
My most popular
Since posting on Ao3, Five People to Whom Alexis Castle Announces she is No Longer a Virgin, a DakotaStew drabble, and the first ever (?) Black Swan fic forget, forget.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion
I feel really good about this Big Love drabblyfic but the fandom is just so small to begin with, that when you add obscure femslash to the equation there really isn't any opportunity for appreciation.
Most fun story to write
I have no idea. Writing was hard this year.
Sexiest story
uh... this.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story
On first consideration, I didn't think I had any this year. But I'll concede and give you my Big Love drabble Amen for not-really-incest and religious desecration. I feel like that will be my theme for the new year.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters
I had never really given Leah much thought before she needed to be the main character in my intoabar ficathon piece.
Hardest story to write
the house set fire to my heart, which I wrote for femslash10. I wrote down the due date wrong. I had several options to write for my recipient, and was really avoiding writing another Bliss/Pash fic when I was burnt out on derby drama at the time, but between procrastination and none of the other options really working out, I had to slam this together. I think it turned out well, however.
Biggest disappointment
I hate that I keep writing Vanessa [Juno] this way.
Most unintentionally telling story
Possibly Amen. There are a lot of tropes there that are really core to what I like to consider 'my work' and that possibly say a lot about me.
