I believe in transparency
Today was my first day on Derbalife (I'm not dieting to lose weight, but to maintain and to gain muscle) a system based on derby-related exercises and the Herbalife supplements, etc.
Basically, the idea is...
- Meal replacement shake for breakfast
- Snack
- Meal replacement shake for lunch
- Snack
- Real meal for dinner (ideally cooked and 'colorful' with food group variety
- Snack
And a lot of people add vitamins and supplements to the deal, but for now, I'm just doing the shakes, protein bars and getting healthier in general. This is actually cheaper (by my estimation) than the way I've been eating lately (eating out for almost every meal).
Anyway. Point of this entry. I felt pretty incredible today, except that I was starving.
At practice, I couldn't catch my breath. I couldn't keep up. I felt awful. I kept dropping out of drills. I literally stopped, and went to the bathroom to cry.
When I got home, I realized I had been half-feeding myself all day, having misread the instructions for mixing the shakes. What a stupid and easy solution.
UGH.
