--> intoabar: Pick a character who walks into a bar, get assigned a random character from a fandom of your listing who they meet. Write a fic about it. Gen, het, fem... whatever. Signups are open. (Also on DW)

--> femslash_planet: I'm on team sweeps. Having a stupid amount of fun so far and all I've done is plan a project and do a wordsearch.

RP:

Playing as Bianca from Degrassi. Love me some conflicted feelings, and hello powerplay. (Yes, I ship her with Adam, and yes, I'd probably ship her with anyone, given the screen time. But not Alli. Bleh.)

IRL:

::crickets:: OH YEAH WE PLAYED OUR FIRST BOUT. IT WAS AWESOME AND WE LOST SO HARD BUT IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER.

Well, my only knowledge of roller derby comes from seeing the trailer of Whip It (which I shall have to see some time. It looks kinda fab). Derby's not a big thing in the UK. It looks a lot of fun though :D

Whip it is a fun movie but they break nearly every rule in the game. You're better off watching games on derbynewsnetwork.com if you can get it to load on your computer.

Depending on your cable, the lesser ESPNs occasionally have derby stuff at, like, 2 am.

I'm largely cable free! I mostly still only watch the 5 main UK channels, and lots of DVDs. I'm still very intrigued by derby though, so I'll have to track some channels down online :)

As for the violence? Coming away from the first game, my league has had (and this is in 6 months):

- broken ankle
- broken wrist
- contused ass
- severe hematoma
- thought was broken but wasn't broken but needed crutches ankle
- nearly broken wrist
- sprained shoulder

And those are just the hospital visits :D

But still, I suppose the risk of broken bones kinda makes it more enjoyable :D
