Hangsaman is very jumpy and mystical, but at the same time it's one of the most devastating portraits of what it's like to be an Outsider at college that I've ever read. I feel this strong almost personal connection to it. (I still don't think Tony isn't real, tho! Or rather, I want Tony to be real.)
