And jesus, Hounddog had its problems - I liked it more because I WANTED to like it than I actually liked it - but the rape scene was not one of them. I could easily name you ten underage sex/rape scenes that are more graphic and upsetting than the one in Hounddog. And, like, a million regular rape scenes. You want to pick on it, sure, go for the piles of cliches, the uneven pacing, the annoying child actors (not counting Dakota herself, who's fine, though I didn't think she was all that great), the fact that Deborah Kampmeier pussed out and cut all the potentially "upsetting" scenes besides the rape itself...seriously, there's so much to complain about, but the rape scene ain't one of them.
But then, Dakota was Hollywood's golden child. I guess people are letting go now, because I didn't hear any complaints about content in The Runaways.
I'm glad I never tried to get into True Blood. It seems like it would just piss me off.
